Nursery
Children start Nursery the term after their 3rd birthday. 
Prior to starting, Staff arrange a home visit, where information is gathered on your child's likes and dislikes, knowledge and understanding, and routines and procedures are explained.
After a settling in period children are encouraged to follow their own interest, but asked to join in with new activities that help develop new skills and understanding.
Besides Communication, Language, Literacy and Mathematics, planned activities help to expand Creative, Physical, Personal and Social development; Science, Geography, IT, History and RE, are all assessed through the area known as Knowledge and Understanding of the World
Three qualified members of experienced staff work full-time in the nursery, together with classroom support assistants.  
Each child is allocated a 'key worker' who observes and records their achievements.
We work closely with parents and the reception class teacher, to offer activities and experiences that help children start school with confidence and enthusiasm.
